Vampire: the Masquerade (VtM) is a tabletop roleplaying game originally created by Mark Rein-Hagen and released in 1991 by White Wolf Publishing. It’s part of the World of Darkness setting, and uses the Storyteller System. VtM utilizes the themes of horror and “gothic-punk” in its world setting, where players take on the roles of vampires, referred to as “Kindred” in-game, acting out the night-to-night struggles against their own bestial natures, the politics of Kindred society, mortal vampire hunters, and other supernatural threats. The 5th edition of VtM was released in late 2018 by Modiphius Entertainment under license from White Wolf Publishing and Paradox Entertainment.

Gehenna Gaming’s V5 Universe
Gehenna Gaming launched its Vampire: the Masquerade 5th edition (V5) shared universe in early 2019, giving players a sandbox World of Darkness set in New England to explore. This led to the very first multi-table crossover gaming event at a single location for V5.
Each of these games has its own themes, with different plots and intrigue led by a different storyteller. However, the events that unfold happen canonically (within the same timeline), contributing to a greater overall story. This way, players can travel between cities (and games), sharing in a broader story and expanding on their personal roleplaying experience at the same time.
Providence is a city with a dark history, among both kindred and kine. Strange creatures, unknown even to the Tremere, have been seen roaming the streets at night, and there have been rumors of young kindred disappearing, venturing out into the darkness and never heard from again.
The Second Inquisition has a careful eye on Salem. Often considered the occult capital of North America, there is more that roams the streets at night than just kindred. When people fear what they don’t understand, they will find plenty to fear in the witch city of Salem.
Though Salem by Night has come to a close, the events that took place through its conclusion still ring out across New England…
